Hey, I’m Shelby

I think I’m one of the rare hairstylists who never bounced around from salon to salon. I started my career at Salon Skanda, an up-and-coming salon in Atlanta, in 2013 and ended up calling it home for 13 years.

I learned from some of the best along the way. I trained under the salon’s owner, Kevin Miraglia, and very early in my career, I was given opportunities to take classes with many well-known brands and hairstylists.

I was lucky enough to have people around me who genuinely wanted to help me grow and succeed, and a boss who pushed me to keep learning and bettering my skills along the way.

As the salon grew, I grew with it. From Buckhead to Sandy Springs, I was along for the ride.

If anyone ever asked me about my future plans as a hairstylist, I would always say I’d work at Salon Skanda forever and retire from there. And I meant it. I truly believed that was where I would spend my entire career.

But in 2022, my life changed for the better. I became a mom and started my family. And along with that, my career goals and dreams began to change, too.

I still wanted to help people feel confident and feel like themselves. I still wanted to create a safe space where you could hang out with a friend while getting the hair of your dreams. But I also realized I wanted more for myself and for my family.

I wanted to own my own salon.

I wanted to create a place where people could feel safe, comfortable and relaxed, while still having fun. A space where the vibes are high, you can completely be yourself, and it feels like you’re hanging out with a good friend. Most importantly, I wanted everyone who walked through the door to feel respected, cared for and leave feeling even better than when they walked in.

So here I am—almost 14 years into my career and starting something new. Something small that I hope to grow and build alongside my family, friends and the incredible people who sit in my chair.

I truly love being a hairstylist. I love transforming people’s hair and seeing the way it changes how they feel about themselves. I love collaborating with my guests, bringing their ideas to life and creating hair that allows them to feel like their most authentic selves.

I specialize in dimensional lightening transformations and multiple methods of hair extensions, while also offering a variety of other services.

Being able to create transformations that help people feel like the best version of themselves is what continues to inspire me after all these years.
